(Click me!)

Sooooo, I guess blog.com was moving to a wordpress interface for the past…I don’t know 3 or 4 weeks, and decided to tell my new posts to “fuck off.”  As a result none of my new posts since 7/10 have been publishing. We took advantage of the downtime and have officially moved to BeLeather.com. Pardon our dust while reconstructing. We’ll be changing things around until its just right.

Please visit beleather.com for updates and be sure to update us in your bookmarks!

“The DNA Code” - New Research Shows Life Hardwired in the Universe

“Heavy, Heavy, Heavy, Heavy, Heavy”

A recent mathematical analysis says that life as we know it is written into the laws of reality.  DNA is built from a set of twenty amino acids - the first ten of those can create simple prebiotic life, and now it seems that those ten are thermodynamically destined to occur wherever they can.

For those unfamiliar with thermodynamics, it’s the Big Brother of all energy equations and science itself.  You can apply quantum mechanics at certain scales, and Newtonian mechanics work at the right speeds, but if Thermodynamics says something then everyone listens.  An energy analysis by Professors Pudritz and Higgs of McMaster University shows that the first ten amino acids are likely to form at relatively low temperatures and pressures, and the calculated odds of formation match the concentrations of these life-chemicals found in meteorite samples.

New Music: ?uestlove/FE/Zo!/Carlitta Durand “Purple Flip”

Ahmir “?uestlove” Thompson- Drums, Samples
Nicolay- Fender Rhodes, acoustic piano
Zo!- Korg synth, additional rhodes
Phonte and Carlitta Durand- Vocals

From The Foreign Exchange Music Website:

This is the first in a series of random goodies that we will be periodically dropping off in your mailboxes. (Who loves ya, baby?)

We recorded this over a month ago specifically for a ?uestlove tribute party dedicated to The Purple One himself. Other than passing it off to a few DJ friends who vowed to keep it on some secret squirrel, “bet you aint up on THIS!” status, no one has ever heard it. In the wake of the incredible loss we suffered on June 25 however, this joint took on somewhat of a deeper meaning.

We decided to share it with our fans not only as a token of appreciation, but also as a way of paying respect to one of our last living musical geniuses.

Let’s not wait until tragedy strikes before we show love and gratitude to our heroes, people. Give them their flowers while they live.

This one’s for you, Mr. Nelson. You are loved and appreciated.

Enjoy!

One Love,
‘Tay and Nic

Peanut Butter Wolf – Michael Jackson Video Tribute

This Michael Jackson video tribute mix was recorded live from the DJ mixer during PB Wolf’s VJ set @ the Echoplex in Los Angeles. It was prepared and performed a few hours after hearing the news of his passing on 6/25/09 and is in NO WAY COMPREHENSIVE of all of Michael’s brilliant work. The show which also featured Daedelus, was for the launch of Friends Of Friends.

Religion has been getting a lot of bad PR lately. Why would you even film an exorcism anyways? Its not like its ghostbusters or something. Aren’t you supposed to be focused on praying and what not?
