While importing my CDs into my desktop, I ran across the Soul Food Soundtrack. I remember buying that soundtrack specifically for this song. After all this time Outkast is still unfuckwitable. I’m glad that Cee-lo FINALLY got his props too. Enjoy!

100% Pure Love

I think God accidently gave me a gay man’s ears when I was a kid. I LOVED this song along with some other unmentionables….(*cough* Madonna’s “Hanky Panky” *cough*). I wonder what ever happened to Crystal Waters. Maybe she’s acting in Black plays with titles like “He ain’t fuh me, but I luh him.” I hope she’s doing alright. Anyhow, I liked this song because it makes you feel sophisticated and sexy. I think I sensed that even as an adolescent. Gay man’s ears…what can I say?

Mark Morrison-Return of the Mack

Judge me all you want, but this song makes me feel good even though its about heartbreak. Mark Morrison’s nasal chords really affect me. This song reminds me of my 8th grade year at Audubon. Man, the 90s were the shit. I miss music with feeling. Everything is so electric now. Music has no grit or soul anymore. Ah, the good ol days.

Anyhow, there’s a gay older white guy who’s office is around the corner from my desk named Mark Morrison. Everytime I walk by his office, I sing this song in my head. I wonder if he knows that he has a namesake with a hit song. Maybe its his favorite song. Who knows?

I figure you flygals would appreciate this song as much as I do. Enjoy!

This is my favorite 2pac song hands down.  It has and always will have the ability to drag me onto most dancefloors. It took me years to perfect the 3rd verse. Shock G’s verse is a close second. You never see rappers smile in videos. You would have thought all the money, cash and hoes would fill them with glee. I just dont get it.

Stuck in my Head

This has to be my favorite Usher song. I love the Ronnie Laws sample they used in this song. (The original song is insanely moving.) Black Moon also used the same break for “Who Got the Props.” 

I was soooo in love with Usher when I was a pre-teen. He was so smooth, on some Stephon Urkel shit.  When he was in those Moesha episodes, I used to think very ungodly thoughts about him; hoping one day we could stroll hand in hand in Leimert Park and talk about the 12 babies we were going to have. Somewhere along the line, he lost his appeal to me. He’s more good looking now, but he just doesn’t do it for me. I wonder what it could be.
